About the Retreat

We will be staying at a beautiful villa in Cosco, Peru, with an all-inclusive retreat setting. This retreat provides you the opportunity to learn about “An Ethical exploration of culture and environment in therapeutic practice.” The learning is unique, since there will be many experiential exercises that will promote your self-care as well. You will certainly go back home GLOWing after attending this program, and have the opportunity to do this in a beautiful destination in Peru.

What You'll Learn on Our Retreat

Wellness Counseling Inc. is excited to offer this retreat to mental health providers wanting to gain wisdom and practice self-care. In this retreat, you can expect to have workshops on vicarious trauma (assessment, management, prevention, and treatment), experience Pottery Making Class daily, learn the mental health benefits of this, Daily Yoga and meditation, experiences out in nature, workshops on burnout management and self-care.

Panama was an incredible experience! From the picturesque setting to the delicious food– and incredible staff and attendees– Arilda created a beautiful container for connection, learning, and expansion. The South Africa retreat exceeded every expectation. The experience was intentionally crafted for therapists, with exceptional accommodations, nourishing meals, and a community of open, like‑minded professionals. The combination of learning, reflection, and shared exploration—set against the beauty of the reserve and the incredible wildlife—created a sense of renewal I didn’t realize I needed. One of my favorite memories was sitting down for an delicious dinner and looking up to the hillside watching the elephants walk the ridge we had been on earlier that day. The retreat embodied laughter, peace, awe-inspiring beauty. The retreat was restorative on every level: professionally, personally, and spiritually.

Wellness Counseling Inc have hosted two therapist training retreats (which sold out on both occasions) at our resort with another return retreat booked for next year. Arilda, who heads the retreats is very professional and organised which I am sure have helped to make it incredibly easy to bring her retreats to life. Several participants we spoke to said that they would be returning to her retreats in the future as they are the perfect opportunity to learn in a beautiful location.

Arilda’s presence and the speakers she brought together were truly inspiring. Their work encouraged me to pursue my EMDR training, which I completed with one of the presenters from the retreat. As a marriage and family therapist myself, I’ve been especially moved by Arilda’s commitment to supporting clinicians in both their skill development and their own well‑being. I’m looking to incorporate EMDR with couples with Arilda’s book, EMDR for Couples. Since returning, I’ve continued to invest in this kind of integrative professional growth.
