Join us in Paris from June 7–14, 2026, for a transformative training experience with Dr. Sandra Paulsen, just steps from the Eiffel Tower. This destination retreat includes a stunning venue, morning wellness activities, two lunches, group tour, and a welcome gift—all while giving you the flexibility to explore Paris on your own during free time.
The schedule balances training, movement, and rest, with built-in opportunities for cultural enrichment and self-care. Guests are welcome to join you for non-CE activities like dinners and the optional river cruise.
Training Description: In the three decades of EMDR’s history, there has been an unfolding of awareness that the standard protocol of EMDR must be modified for safe and effective use with complex trauma and dissociation. There have been a number of modifications suggested to accomplish that end, involving the integration of several therapeutic approaches as needed. The challenge for clinicians is how, and by what decision process, these other methods might be integrated with fidelity to adaptive information processing theory and therapy, while maximizing safety for complex trauma survivors. The N.E.S.T. approach guides the process of assessment, case formulation and treatment planning for time efficient treatment. The acronym stands for Neuroaffective Embodied Self Therapy. “N”stands for Neuroaffective, referring to leading edge applications from neuroscience, including innovations such as resetting the Pankseppian affective circuits and shame, cranial electrical stimulation, interruptive neurofeedback, and more. These methods have in common that they tend to “shake the box,” inviting the brain to interrupt its deeply engrained neural pathway habits and try a new strategy, the hallmark of plasticity and transformation.“E”stands for Embodiment using somatic therapeutic maneuvers to help clients drop into the felt sense of their bodily sensations.“S”stands for Self-System enlistment and deconflictualizing through egostate work,in the tradition of Watkins and Watkins, and Watkins & Paulsen.“T”stands forTherapies, all of which are integrated within the eight phases of EMDR Therapy and Adaptive Information Processing theory.Although not a cookie cutter because of the unique nature of each complex case, the N.E.S.T.approach goes a considerable distance to systematizing the process.
Italy 2026 was for my first retreat and I cannot encourage enough for other clinicians to go on one. 10/10 experience! Being able to have conversations with other clinicians, learn from some amazing people in our field, immerse in different cultures, and have this experience take place in a 1,000 year OLD CASTLE! WOW! A dream I never thought to dream came to reality. Gratitude, humility and awe for being able to meet all the wonderful people I did. Sign up for the retreat! Younger you and future you will be so thankful present you is taking the chance.
Our experience traveling with Wellness Counseling, Inc. to both South Africa and Panama was completely amazing! We loved the experiences, the community, and the ease of traveling to amazing places all while getting therapy CE’s. On both trips, we experienced rest for our nervous systems, a reset for our therapy business, and connection with wonderful therapists. We left with our cups completely filled! We are looking forward to attending more retreats with Arilda. We highly recommend Wellness Counseling Inc.!
Panama was an incredible experience! From the picturesque setting to the delicious food– and incredible staff and attendees– Arilda created a beautiful container for connection, learning, and expansion. I appreciated the choice to spend afternoons relaxing or enjoying various creative or physical activities around the island. It was an excellent space to reflect, rest, and also try something new. I left feeling inspired and more deeply connected to myself, others, and nature. I can’t wait to attend my next retreat!
I had the privilege of recently attending a GLOW Therapist Retreat in Bali, Indonesia. This opportunity was priceless and the planning/delivery of the retreat, organized by Wellness Counseling Inc, was incredible. I highly recommend other therapists take advantage of this way to earn CE’s and network with other clinicians internationally.
Recently experienced a Wellness Retreat hosted by Wellness Counseling Inc. There are not enough words to convey the wonderful time I had while participating at this retreat with other healers from all over. I highly recommend other therapists to invest in yourself with a Wellness Counseling, Inc. retreat.
As a participant on the Panama retreat, I wholly endorse these retreats. I had a breakthrough moment on the way there (haha) while traveling and the inspiration continued to flow through the retreat days. I returned home yesterday feeling energized and full of ideas! I highly recommend Arilda’s retreats.
My husband and I just got home from the Panama retreat. If you have been considering booking one of Wellness Counseling Inc. retreats …DO IT NOW!!! This is our second retreat with Arilda, and both of them have surpassed all expectations. Arilda curates amazing experiences for rest, reset, connection, and personal growth. On both of these retreats my husband and I have had big breakthroughs for our therapy business, reset our nervous systems, and made lifelong connections. Plus, the food, the scenery, and the staff at both locations made it a true dream vacation on top of everything else! I can’t recommend one of these retreats enough.
Arilda Surridge has truly changed my life. I attended her retreat in Bali in 2025 and had an extremely positive experience. She invited me back this year as a speaker and I will also be presenting in Costa Rica and Panama later this year and Japan and Italy in 2027. The resort in Bali was remarkable, the attendees were incredible, and as a retreat host she creates an environment that is both deeply transformative and exceptionally well organized. Arilda has a rare ability to bring together ambitious, heart-centered professionals and create space for both personal growth and meaningful connection. If you are considering attending one of her retreats, I cannot recommend the experience enough.
Arilda is consistently composed, thoughtful, and courteous in every interaction I see her with at her retreats: guests, speakers, contractors, and everyone involved. She brings calm, clarity, and integrity to your work and those around you, and it’s admirable. I notice how much time, energy, and care she pour into creating experiences that are meaningful, restorative, and memorable. Thank you. Your work and professionalism has a real and lasting impact, and I’m grateful for the adventures and healing spaces you continue to offer our community.
The South Africa retreat exceeded every expectation. The experience was intentionally crafted for therapists, with exceptional accommodations, nourishing meals, and a community of open, like‑minded professionals. The combination of learning, reflection, and shared exploration—set against the beauty of the reserve and the incredible wildlife—created a sense of renewal I didn’t realize I needed. One of my favorite memories was sitting down for an delicious dinner and looking up to the hillside watching the elephants walk the ridge we had been on earlier that day. The retreat embodied laughter, peace, awe-inspiring beauty. The retreat was restorative on every level: professionally, personally, and spiritually.
Wellness Counseling Inc have hosted two therapist training retreats (which sold out on both occasions) at our resort with another return retreat booked for next year. Arilda, who heads the retreats is very professional and organised which I am sure have helped to make it incredibly easy to bring her retreats to life. Several participants we spoke to said that they would be returning to her retreats in the future as they are the perfect opportunity to learn in a beautiful location.
Arilda’s presence and the speakers she brought together were truly inspiring. Their work encouraged me to pursue my EMDR training, which I completed with one of the presenters from the retreat. As a marriage and family therapist myself, I’ve been especially moved by Arilda’s commitment to supporting clinicians in both their skill development and their own well‑being. I’m looking to incorporate EMDR with couples with Arilda’s book, EMDR for Couples. Since returning, I’ve continued to invest in this kind of integrative professional growth.
