Andra Bruce is a dedicated and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a proven track record of success in helping clients heal from trauma and negative life events. With over 25 years of experience, she has demonstrated expertise in EMDR Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Therapy, emotional regulation using Polyvagal Theory, and sand tray therapy, among others.
Andra holds client care, therapeutic relationships, and constant acquisition of new skills at the top of her priorities to assist clients on their healing journeys. She is recognized for her ability to empathize, attune to and collaboratively create healing solutions individualized to each client while working within best practice guidelines. Andra is a certified EMDR therapist, EMDRIA approved consultant, facilitator for the EMDR Institute, and an EMDR HAP consultant and facilitator.
Andra began her professional journey at Valley Mental Health in the Acute Children’s Extended Services program, where she honed her skills in helping behavior disordered children and their families learn new ways to interact and regulate for increased success at home and school. She went on in 2009 to start a private practice, Impact Counseling, PLLC, where she sees clients of all ages and works individually with them to heal and process trauma and create possibilities for improved functioning in the present and future. She specializes in the treatment of dissociative disorders including DID; Complex PTSD, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and ADHD/ADD.
Andra attended the University of Utah, where she double majored in Psychology and Family and Consumer Studies. She continued her graduate studies at the University of Utah in the Graduate School of Social Work, graduating with her Master of Social Work in 2000. Andra is committed to continuous learning and professional development. She is a member of NASW and ISSTD. She regularly attends seminars and conferences to stay at the forefront of emerging treatments and research.
Passionate about giving back, Andra volunteers with EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs (HAP) as a facilitator for EMDR HAP Trainings, supporting the education of EMDR therapists who serve marginalized populations. Andra serves as a board member for the Harmony Center Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to raising funds to support access to creative therapies for those with disabilities and mental health needs. She also volunteers with her local church. Andra is currently working to organize a Trauma Recovery Network of volunteers who are ready to respond to local man-made and natural disasters with a focus on preventing the onset of PTSD.
