Amber Margaretten is a licensed psychological associate in North Carolina. She attended Appalachian State and North Carolina State University for her undergraduate degree in psychology. After her undergrad, she obtained her master’s in clinical psychology from North Carolina Central University while working full time with the Department of Adult Corrections in North Carolina. She completed her practicum at Duke University in their Pain Clinic providing individual and group therapy to youth with chronic illnesses. Amber has been in the mental health field for about ten years. Areas of previous mental health experience include various correctional facilities performing individual therapy, group therapy, and psychological assessments. Other areas of experience include inpatient hospitals, geriatrics, chronic pain, group home settings, and providing affirming care to diverse populations. She ventured into private practice where she has focused on providing psychological assessments in school systems, disability evaluations, and psychological evaluations for diagnostic clarification.
Amber Margaretten, MA, LPA (she/her) is the owner and psychologist at Worry Free. She received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at North Carolina Central University. Amber has experience working with all ages from young children to elderly adults providing psychological evaluations. She has provided mental health treatment in numerous settings including residential and inpatient mental health facilities, residential facilities serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, juvenile and adult correctional settings, chronic pain clinics, long term care facilities, educational settings, outpatient mental health clinics, and treating first responders.
When Amber isn’t at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and snuggling with her three dogs.
