Sarrah Steele is a licensed independent clinical social worker and the owner of Rooted Transformations, PLLC., the first private practice Garfield County, considered to most rural county in the state. This county depended on community based and nonprofit managed mental health services until Rooted opened its’ doors in 2024. Sarrah started her practice as an associate, and has successfully expanded to a thriving group practice within 18 months of operation. With nearly a decade of experience employed as a wildland firefighter with the United States Forest Service, Sarrah has used her valuable experience as an emergency responder to build a rapidly growing private practice. She is known for approaching the unique challenges of rural mental health like a wildfire. With a strong passion for the outdoors, Sarrah and her team have developed and implemented a research-based, alternative outdoor program for juvenile courts in the state of Washington. At the Summit, Sarrah will take you down “The Trail” she followed to build a sustainable practice, despite the stigma surrounding mental health in rural America.
